Update 12th Feb - Future Development in Kingsteignton Another Chance to See the Proposals Royal British Legion Club, Longford Lane Thursday, 23rd February between 7 pm and 9 pm. It’s encouraging news that so many people are attending the Core Strategy roadshows throughout the  district. However, it’s most important for people to give their feedback to Teignbridge planners in the  prescribed way.  For that reason, KREAG has teamed up with Kingsteignton British Legion to offer help. On  Thursday, the 23rd February at the British Legion premises in Longford Lane, Kingsteignton, there’s a further  chance to see the plans for Kingsteignton between 7pm and 9pm. We will also guide residents on how to  make sure Teignbridge planners get your views. So for anyone who missed the event in Kingsteignton, this  is another opportunity to see the plans and make comment.      The strategy will replace many of the area's existing planning policies and long term proposals originally  published in the Teignbridge Local Plan, which was adopted in 1996 and is now increasingly out of date.    To link to the page on the Teignbridge website click here. Kingsteignton is covered in Chapter 6, the “Heart  of Teignbridge”, and as such is packaged with Kingskerswell and Newton Abbot. The ideas in the Core Strategy have been brought together through community involvement following on  from a survey that was conducted in 2007. A Community Plan document was produced in 2010 and has  been taken forward by a local group, the Kingsteignton Community Plan Implementation Group,  supported by Teignbridge DC. A concession on weekend opening was, however, secured.   24 hour operation at the site will reduce the amenity of the area and that of residents. The increased  traffic which will result in the Sandygate and Furze Cap areas following the diversion of the B3193,  means disruption to sleep patterns of residents along the whole lenghth of road to the A380 is  inevitable.   This was one of the last items on a long agenda. Consequently, four members ‘excused themselves’  without hearing the arguments or participating in the debate.
