Following the formation of a new committee, a revised constitution has been agreed by members at the November 2011 AGM. It reflects the direction which KREAG will be taking in the future and can be viewed on our ‘ Contact and Join’ page.  We have carried out a leaflet drop in the Furze Cap area to alert residents there to the plan to build a road juction at the Abbrook playing fields as part of the redirection of the B3193. This will inevitably bring more road traffic near their homes. Representation has been made to Devon County Planners following the Viridor application to vary working practices at the Heathfield site. Principally this involves moving the working area closer to the residents at Fosterville and extending the hours of operation. We have also alerted Teignbridge planners to the history of the sawmills site at Abbrook and the strong liklihood of contamination of the land being proposed for sports facilities. The KREAG town councillors are closely monitoring all planning matters proposed in the Kingsteignton area. Whilst KREAG supports the principle of a cycle path along the River Teign, we feel that the loss of a row of oak trees and remains of the building near the Passage House Inn is an unnecessay price to pay. This situation will be watched closely. Councillor Ken Dennis responded to the lead article in the weekly edition of the Herald Express in a letter published on the 28th July, 2011. In it he drew attention to the inaccuracies of the position put forward by a Teignbridge councillor over planning matters and the fact that there are “excellent road links and approved plans around Kingsteignton”.
